LED Lighting, saving time and money
I’m finding that inquiries about installing LED lighting have sharply increased recently, many wondering if the initial financial outlay is really worth the subsequent savings on their electric bill. The simple answer to this is yes, LED lighting on average requires 85-90% less electricity to operate at the same level as traditional lighting. Whilst LED lighting (be these sealed units or the type with retrofit LED lamps) have historically been expensive, advances in the technology recently have caused the price of LED lighting to become much more competitive to standard incandescent lighting.
There are many deals becoming available online and in local wholesalers for LED lighting, my local wholesalers only charge an additional £5 per down lighter fitting to have an LED GU10 lamp included, and as well as saving 85-90% on energy they have a service life of 30,000 hours!. Roughly 10 times more than standard light bulbs. So not only do you save money but it’s likely you’ll spend less time changing blown light bulbs.
The only thing I will say to be cautious about with LED is the type of light colour your want, incandescent produce a yellow glow but LED’s come in a range of different colours. Ranging from a traditional yellow light, to blue to a brilliant white light. Bear this in mind when ordering LED lighting. This article gives quite a useful insight into LED lighting in the real world. Thanks for reading!.
